The journey so far has been really pleasant. Light winds around 8-10kn. No swell and blue sky. In the afternoon the wind decreases slowly. What to do?
We start the engine and we hear that something is wrong. Full throttle and only 2 knots. We start with checking the first fuel filter with water separator. The bolt breaks! Temporary repair. No spare filter for this one. We change the second fuel filter at the engine. Not better. Jan is then diving under the boat. No fishing net. No changes. The engine still sounds not good. We decide to go back to the Swedish coast and Marstrand. A little bit more far away than Denmark but we believe we can get quicker help. When we´re in mobile range, we call SSRS and ask for assistance. The wind is now down to 3-4 knots and our speed is appr 1,5 kn. With 18nm left! We decide to have dinner and then call SSRS back when we´re getting closer. At 21:45 “Hedvig” and the SSRS team arrives and start towing us towards Marstrand. Niklas is also trying with getting the air out of the fuel system without success. At 23:45 we arrive to the quay at the Volvo Penta repairer. Thanks a lot SSRS for the support. A couple of beers helps before bedtime!
